There's no "magic" loads for a short barrel vs. long barrel. Personally, I think the 308 is all about 165/168 bullets. I'd start there with Varget, and work up to 46.0 gr's. The 165 Hdy BTSP is typically a wicked accurate bullet in the 308, and it will kill any BG animal hunted with a 308.Accurate 2520 has been around for a very long time. What I have found gives the best groupings at 100 & 300 yards are variations of 175 or 180 SMK / SPBT over N550 or RL17 out of a DPMS LR308 18" barrel. 2.815 COL in Lake City brass. This weekend I did ladder tests at 300 yards and the standout was RL17 47.0 gr, 175 SMK @2.815" COL.
